Carver graduates serve the Baltimore community in leadership roles as well as in entrepreneurship, government service, and technical trades.


1. 1975-Anthony Lewis won a major race at the Hereford Invitational. Forty two years later he is still the only BCPS athlete and only African American to ever win there.

2. 1977-78 & 79 Carver's cross country team went 42 - 0 in varsity and junior varsity competition winning six consecutive championships. No team in the country has accomplished this.

3. 1995- Dameon Johnson made All Metro Track- Baltimore Sun in the high jump, 200 meters and 400 meters in which he set a city and state record of 46.2. Johnson was a member of the U.S. men's mile relay team that broke the world and American records in the world Indoor Championships in Maebashi Japan in 1999.

4. Lindsey Mason ( 400 and hurdles) attended Kansas earned a Super Bowl Ring with Oakland'

5. James Rooths ( sprints and relays ) attended Sheppard College. Earned a Super Bowl Ring with Tampa Bay. This makes Carver the only high school in the State and possibly the entire east coast to accomplish this.

6. Bernard Williams (97) Fourteen time State Champion, national JUCO champion. NCAA 100 meter champion and Penn Relay 100 meter champ while attending Florida. In 2000 Bernard earned an Olympic Gold Medal in
the 400 meter relay . This was the first gold medal in track by a Marylander in 104 years. In 2004 he won his second Olympic Medal a second place Silver in the 200 meters.

7. Sam Davis ( track/cross country ) Recently promoted to managing Assistant Editor, Baltimore Sun.
